 Dear ,
Greetings! Earlier this month, I traveled up to Boston for the UUA's International Staff Group Retreat (see photo!) and also to participate in the UUA staff's White Supremacy Teach-In. I know a lot of people have been doing these teach-ins at your congregations. Of course this is just a start of this institution-wide conversation - there is so much each of us must now continue to learn and do.
Congratulations to the 22 congregations who achieved Blue Ribbon status this year! See below for the list of these dedicated congregations whose commitment to global peace and justice is recognized through this annual Blue Ribbon Award. Be sure also to take a look below for the international events planned for the upcoming UUA General Assembly.
Here are the minutes from the May Envoy conference calls. Our next call will be on June 14th and will feature special guest UNO Director Bruce Knotts! Please RSVP here for the June call.
In faith, love, hope, and justice,
Allison Hess
International Engagement Associate

FOR YOUR NEWSLETTER
The Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office is deeply engaged this summer in bringing intergenerational dialogues to the United Nations through a partnership with the UN's Department of Public Information. A day-long event will be held this August to address how global citizens of all ages can be active in working to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The UU-UNO is also paying close attention as the United Nations meets June 15-July 17 to negotiate a treaty to ban nuclear weapons. The treaty negotiations, while not supported by nuclear-armed states, will increase pressure to eliminate nuclear arms for future generations.

- Find out what threats exist in your area from economic, social, or environmental disasters and who the most vulnerable populations are. What is your congregation's capacity for support in case of such a disaster? Have a conversation about how you can reduce exposure and vulnerability in your community.

|
|
|
We're gearing up for the end of June when the UUA's international office will be involved in a number of events at UUA General Assembly in New Orleans, Louisiana. This year's GA theme is "Resist & Rejoice." We look forward to connecting with UUs from around the United States (and some of our international guests too) at GA - if you aren't going yourself, see if someone else from your congregation is attending - we'd love to meet them either at one of our events or by
visiting us at the International booth in the UUA Expressway in the exhibit hall! Here's a list of international events to look forward to at GA.
