Featured Resource: Programs Offered by CER Staff
Is your cluster of congregations looking for programming to meet congregational needs for the upcoming year? Not sure what options are available to you?

The CER staff have created a listing of workshops we offer across the region for clusters or groups of congregations. If you are interested in seeing what we can provide for you, check out the list. If you find something that interests your entire group, email your primary contact to start the conversation about when we might be able to offer the workshop in your area. Some workshops any of our staff can lead, others require those specifically trained in that topic to lead it.

Workshops include topics such as board training, intercultural competency, multicultural welcome, restorative justice training, volunteer training, safer congregations, stewardship in the 21st century and more.

To see the full list visit our website's Program page.
Are you ready for General Assembly?
General Assembly 2018 will take place June 20-24, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri. We hope to see many of you there in person or virtually!

To help our congregational delegates prepare for this year's GA, there are two orientation webinars. The first, for off site delegates, took place on May 24th and the recording is available on our youtube channel. The second for on-site delegates is scheduled for June 13th and registration is open. In addition, the UUA Faith Development office has created a set of preparation materials to help individuals learn more about the issues and the city where we'll be meeting. You can find those materials on the UUA website.

This year our public witness will be led by BLUU and will focus on #EndMoneyBail and also Black & Brown Pre/Post Natal Wellness. Learn more about what is planned and how you can participate at the UUA website.

If you want to join the GA Choir, note that registration is first come first serve for balanced sections and registration is now open online line. Find out more on the UUA website.

Finally the GA App is now available along with the pdf of the program book. Find both of the GA website.
Reminder - It's Time to Update Your Leadership Information!
It's that time of the year again. Your congregation has held its annual meeting, or its on your schedule and elected new officers. You have new committee chairs appointed to lead your work for next year. But have you told anyone about these changes?

To help us and the UUA stay in touch with the leaders of your congregation we need YOU to update your leadership information on myuua.org. This is the same place you update your UU World lists. Need help? Let us know or check out the webpage with the details.
Better Together Blog: Falling Forward
You may remember that last spring the UUA was embroiled in a controversy over hiring practices for staff such as myself who serve our congregations. It was a perfect storm of UU crisis: a significant portion of our UU family calling out important, long overdue problems with the UUA. A social media firestorm with plenty of blame to share. Defensiveness and poor messaging from leadership. The resignation of the UUA’s President, Chief Operating Officer, and my boss, the Director of Congregational Life. And then, a UUA commitment to once again tackle the perennial UU problem of embedded structural racism and white supremacy culture.

Support Black Unitarian Universalists. When the Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism (BLUU) Sunday campaign kicked off, many Unitarian Universalist congregations were excited about exploring the theme of The Promise and the Practice of Our Faith and making a pledge to BLUU by June 30. Has your congregation scheduled your Sunday? Please post it to this map! This spiritual and financial commitment to BLUU allows UU congregations to address systemic inequality while uplifting the voices and stories of Black Unitarian Universalists. The worship materials, written by Unitarian Universalist Professionals of Color, allow Unitarian Universalists to deeply explore the challenges, the beauty, and the complexity of UU traditions from the perspectives of Black Unitarian Universalists. Join the UUA as it continues to work toward the path of being an inclusive, multicultural and multigenerational faith tradition. Get resources and guidance for holding a BLUU Sunday service in your congregation on UUA.org and help us all enter into a new chapter within our faith.

New publications from the UUA - The following new publications are now available: Upcycle Your Congregation: Creative Ideas for Transforming Faith Communities, and The Parent Guide to Our Whole Lives, Grades K–1 and Grades 4–6, Second Edition.  The Commission on Institutional Change is encouraging Congregations to read Centering, which is one of the common reads for this year.
